The FIRST question we get asked: What about vermin and insects?

As a straw bale wall does not have a cavity like the majority of standard brick veneer walls do today and with weep holes for mice to get in; straw bale walls cannot house any vermin once the walls are plastered. Regarding insects again as the walls are impervious to moisture and straw is an inert material insects cannot be sustained for any length of time.
